- Bodega Bay (3 miles away, 8 minutes) - This seafaring town is just a few minutes from the house. There are several restaurants offering fresh off-the-boat seafood and small grocery stores.
- Bodega (5.6 miles away, 10 minutes) - The tiny village of Bodega has big-screen cred: It, along with neighboring Bodega Bay, provided Sonoma County locations for director Alfred Hitchcock’s classic thriller “The Birds.” Movie enthusiasts can drive by such landmarks as St. Teresa’s Church and the Potter Schoolhouse (now a private residence).
- Valley Ford (8.5 miles away, 13 minutes) - This very small town has a population of 34 and several nice restaurants that serve with country hospitality. We can recommend Estero Cafe, Valley Ford Creamery, and Rocker Oysterfellers.
- Freestone (10.3 miles away, 16 minutes) - Freestone is an unincorporated micro-town on the way to Occidental. A former stone and logging town, Freestone is the entryway to the Bohemian Highway. In 1974, Freestone became the first historic district named by Sonoma County. Here you will find an amazing bakery “Wild Flour Bread”, as well as the Osmosis Day Spa.
- Occidental (13.8 miles away, 23 minutes) - This tiny community of Occidental (pop. 1,115) packs a lot into its two-block long main street, home to galleries, gift shops, renowned dining establishments, and other local businesses.
- Sebastapol (15.7 miles away, 25 minutes) - The community-minded town has great food, wine and art, all three of which can be enjoyed in a former apple processing plant turned giant maker hub in the middle of town. 'The Barlow' in Sebastapol is an Industrial-chic shopping site featuring hip stores, wine tastings & restaurants with outdoor tables.
